9, 2004 - Founder Greg Larkin Speaks at Manchester Java User's
Group Meeting
Hollis, NH — Greg Larkin, founder of SourceHosting.net,
spoke at the Manchester (NH) Java User's Group meeting
on Wednesday, June 9th, 2004. The topic of the talk was "Team-oriented
Development with CVS and Eclipse".
In the talk, Larkin presented an introduction
to CVS, motivation for its use and the integration support for Eclipse,
a popular open-source Java integrated development
environment (IDE). In addition, he introduced the SourceHosting.net
service and
its
benefit
to software
project
teams, whether they are located in one office or all over the world. "Since
SourceHosting.net repositories are so easy to set up in Eclipse, Java
development teams can be collaborating with each other within minutes
of signing up for an account with us," Larkin said.
"The Eclipse tool fosters team-oriented
development in many ways, including its support for back-end source code
control
systems," he continued. "By integrating the CVS client directly
into the IDE, the developer stays in a familiar environment and can collaborate
with other members of the team. Features like that streamline the development
process, which contributes to meeting the delivery schedule."
SourceHosting.net is the premier provider of Subversion
hosting, CVS hosting services, Bugzilla hosting and software development
collaboration tools. The Manchester Java User's Group (ManJUG),
was founded by Eric Thoman for the purpose of sharing Java knowledge with local
software developers and promoting the use of the Java language.
